Casa Guazzoni

The facade of Casa Guazzoni on Via Venezia is covered in ironwork that looks like climbing vines. Architect Giovanni Battista Bossi designed this building in nineteen oh four, covering the exterior with cast iron balconies and floral stone carvings. Bossi wanted the metal to appear as if it grew naturally out of the masonry. The building stands as a dense display of Liberty style in Milan, where every square inch of the street front works to deny the existence of a straight line.
