Fountain of Carlotta

A cluster of stone basins and a bronze spout sit at the center of the Piazza della Radio. This fountain is named for Carlotta, a woman who once lived in the neighborhood and earned a reputation for the water she carried from a nearby spring during the late nineteenth century. She served as a lifeline for the local laborers when the city infrastructure failed to reach them. The bronze figure honors her daily labor, capturing the moment she paused to rest with her heavy jug.
