"Narcissa" Street Art Mural by Jacob Yikes

landmark

The Narcissa mural features a giant, surreal face painted in stark black and white across the brick wall. Jacob Yikes created this piece following the twenty eleven earthquakes. While much of the city center lay in ruins, this artwork transformed a scarred, vacant wall into a canvas for his signature gritty, detailed style. The character staring out from the bricks is meant to be a reflection of the fractured atmosphere the city endured while people figured out how to rebuild their homes.
