The Shijia Hutong Museum occupies a classic courtyard residence marked by a grey-tiled roof and an ornate, carved wooden gate. This courtyard once belonged to Ling Shuhua, a renowned writer and painter who hosted a legendary literary salon here in the nineteen twenties. While the surrounding hutongs have seen decades of demolition and modernization, this specific house remains as a preserved relic of old Beijing. It serves as a quiet vessel for the memories of the families who lived within these walls.
