Calle Resbalosa

Calle Resbalosa is a steep, narrow stone staircase connecting the historic center of Cusco to the San Blas neighborhood. Its name translates to Slippery Street, a label earned from the slick, uneven cobblestones that challenge anyone climbing toward the high-altitude plazas above. During the colonial era, the path served as a vital, direct artery for workers and residents navigating the city's vertical layout. Local legend says that even the most sure-footed mules frequently lost their footing here during the rainy season.
