Mural by Vhils & Shepard Fairey

The wall holds two faces carved directly into the plaster, side by side. One is the work of Shepard Fairey, the American artist who used his signature stencil style to bring bold color to the surface. Next to it, the Portuguese artist Vhils used a hammer and chisel to carve his portrait into the building, removing layers of paint and brick to reveal the texture of the wall itself. They finished this collaboration in two thousand seventeen to celebrate the Lisbon street art scene.
