The M7 building features a sharp, jagged white exterior that mimics the folded paper of an origami sculpture. It sits at the center of Msheireb Downtown, acting as a hub for local fashion, design, and technology. Before the neighborhood was rebuilt, this area was a collection of traditional courtyard homes. In nineteen seventy-eight, a local woman named Fatma Al-Meer famously refused to sell her family home, forcing the initial urban planners to redraw their blueprints entirely around her single house.
