Kishu An Forest of Literature

The Kishu An Forest of Literature features a low, wide wooden structure with an expansive veranda that sits suspended just above the ground. This site once served as an upscale Japanese restaurant in the nineteen hundreds, where writers and artists gathered to overlook the Xindian River. After the restaurant burned down in the mid-nineties, the city saved the remaining main hall. It now functions as a literary center, holding onto the quiet, elevated wooden platform where the original guests once dined.
