Congreso de la Nación Argentina

The Congreso de la Nación Argentina features a massive central dome clad in oxidized copper that turns the building a distinct, weathered green against the city skyline. It serves as the seat of the country’s legislative branch. Construction began in eighteen ninety-eight, but workers did not finish the interior until nineteen forty-six. During the long process, sculptor Lola Mora provided elaborate marble statues for the exterior, but politicians found them scandalous and eventually ordered them removed to a remote northern province.
