Plaza Dorrego

Plaza Dorrego features a rectangular expanse of uneven cobblestones bordered by heavy iron streetlamps. This spot serves as the historic heart of San Telmo, functioning as the city’s second-oldest public square. In the late eighteen hundreds, this was the final stop for carts bringing goods from the countryside, where drivers waited for clearance to enter the city. Today, local antiques dealers spread their wares across the ground every Sunday, continuing a tradition that turned this transit point into a living marketplace.
