Bookstore and Publishing Folha Seca

other

Folha Seca displays a wall of shelves packed tight with records, sheet music, and books dedicated almost entirely to the history of Brazilian popular music. The shop opened in nineteen ninety-nine, founded by Steve Soares, a former banker who spent his afternoons scouring city flea markets for rare samba LPs. He created a space where musicians, journalists, and local collectors meet to track down out of print vinyl. The storefront holds a collection of albums that tracks the evolution of Rio samba.
