Lugó Lugó

The heavy iron gate at Lugó Lugó conceals a courtyard filled with tall, mature trees that seem out of place in the dense urban fabric of Medellín. This space functions as an experimental workshop for traditional craftsmanship. In the nineteen eighties, a local carpenter salvaged timber from demolished colonial houses across the city to build the structure’s interior. He wanted to preserve the joinery techniques that were vanishing from modern construction. Today, the space remains a quiet center for artisans working with raw wood.
