Panagal Park features a distinctive, elevated central platform surrounded by a bustling circular roundabout that separates the T. Nagar neighborhood from the heavy traffic of Usman Road. Named after the Raja of Panagal, a former chief minister of the Madras Presidency, the park remains the primary landmark of this commercial district. In the nineteen thirties, the Raja pushed for the development of this residential area, and the park served as the intended heart of a carefully planned neighborhood meant for the growing middle class.
