Saptaswara Musicals features a storefront wall lined with rows of polished wooden veenas and shimmering carnatic instruments. Founded in nineteen seventy-eight by A. S. Mani, the shop grew from a small repair corner into a destination for classical musicians across Chennai. Musicians once traveled for miles just to have Mani adjust the tension of their sitar strings by hand. Today, the shelves hold thousands of instruments, ranging from traditional percussion mridangams to modern synthesizers, all maintained under the watchful eye of his family.
