The building at four Suginami houses a cafe and music venue known as MOUSE. Its weathered wooden exterior distinguishes it from the surrounding residential concrete structures. Akira Kurosawa once frequented a shop on this same street, and in the nineteen seventies, local musicians transformed this specific house into a basement performance space. They prioritized acoustic raw sound over polished production. Today, the venue remains a quiet gathering point where jazz musicians hold rehearsals and nightly improvisational sets for small audiences.
