Al Shindagha Museum

The Al Shindagha Museum occupies a cluster of traditional coral stone and plaster houses along the Dubai Creek. These structures once served as the residence of the ruling Maktoum family, including the home of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum. During the nineteen nineties, the government began the painstaking process of restoring these dwellings to their original state. Today, they contain exhibits detailing the maritime history and pearling industry that defined life here before the discovery of oil changed the city forever.
