Chester Square

Chester Square was not originally part of the grand plan for the surrounding Belgravia district. It emerged as an afterthought in eighteen twenty-eight when a local landowner named Watkins successfully petitioned the powerful Grosvenor family to integrate his smaller landholdings into their broader residential scheme. This unique origin resulted in a notably narrow and elongated layout that distinguishes it from the more expansive nearby garden squares.
