Nealon Park

Nealon Park sits on nine acres of land that has served as a central recreation space for generations of Menlo Park residents. Originally known as Menlo Recreation Park, it was officially renamed in April 1948 to honor James J. Nealon. Nealon was a dedicated public servant who spent forty eight years working for the United States Customs Service in San Francisco. After his retirement, he focused his energy on local youth, serving as the chairman of the San Mateo County Youth Activity Committee and working to ensure local boys had consistent access to basketball and baseball programs.
