Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple

The Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple stands out with its soaring, seven-tiered gopuram tower painted in vibrant, saturated hues of yellow, pink, and blue. As the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, it serves as a center for the Indo-Fijian community. Master craftsmen brought from India carved the intricate deities directly into the concrete structure. When the original wooden temple was replaced in the nineteen nineties, the builders insisted on traditional Dravidian architecture to maintain a direct link to their ancestral Tamil heritage.
