Lycée Rodin

The Lycée Rodin stands on ground that once held tanneries and the historic path of the Bièvre river. Before the current concrete wings were constructed in the early nineteen-sixties, the site was known as the Annexe des Cordelières, taking its name from the convent of the Poor Clares that previously occupied this patch of land. Students today walk across a history defined by heavy industry and religious seclusion, a transformation that reflects the rapid urbanization of the thirteenth arrondissement during the mid-twentieth century.
