Arènes de Lutèce

The Arènes de Lutèce is a surviving relic of the city’s Roman past, known then as Lutetia. Constructed in the first century, this amphitheater once hosted gladiatorial combat and theatrical performances for up to fifteen thousand spectators. It functions as a hybrid space, featuring both a traditional arena floor and a large stage for dramas. You are standing in the oldest significant historical monument remaining in Paris.
