Bengaluru Fort

The stone walls of the Bengaluru Fort are marked by a jagged, partial gateway and heavy bastions that stand in stark contrast to the modern traffic of the city. Kempe Gowda the First built the original structure out of mud in fifteen thirty-seven to protect his new settlement. Hyder Ali later encased the fortification in stone during the seventeen sixties. In seventeen ninety-one, British forces breached the Delhi Gate with cannons, forcing Tipu Sultan to withdraw his troops while leaving behind his summer palace.
