Flash Disc Ranch hides behind a bright yellow sign adorned with a record icon, tucked away on the second floor of a small building in Setagaya. Inside, thousands of vinyl records line the walls, packed tight from floor to ceiling. The shop owner, Toshiaki Utada, opened this space in nineteen seventy-eight to share his collection of soul, funk, and rock music. He spends his days sorting crates, often leaving the shop floor to find a specific pressing a visitor requested from his massive personal archive.
