Godzilla Head

The Toho Cinema building in Shinjuku holds a massive, scaly Godzilla head perched twelve stories above the street. It is a full-scale replica based on the nineteen ninety-two film, Godzilla versus Mothra. Weighing eighty tons, the head occasionally breathes smoke and emits a roar for pedestrians below. In two thousand fifteen, the Shinjuku ward office officially appointed this monster as a tourism ambassador and gave him residency, cementing his status as a permanent, snarling fixture of the neighborhood skyline.
