Jinglongchi is a quiet pond tucked within the grounds of the Beilin Museum, featuring stone embankments and water lilies that reflect the surrounding ancient steles. This basin traces its origins to the Tang dynasty, when it served as part of the massive Imperial Garden of the old capital. While the city above ground transformed over centuries, this pool remained a steady fixture. During the Ming dynasty, officials maintained it to preserve a piece of the original garden layout for scholars visiting the nearby forest of steles.
