The Chengdu Art Academy Art Gallery features a facade of geometric concrete panels and expansive glass windows that break up the heavy grey walls. It serves as the primary exhibition space for the municipal art academy, housing works produced by local ink painters and contemporary artists. In nineteen ninety-eight, the institution moved into this space to centralize the display of Sichuan-style art. You can often see students from the adjacent studios carrying rolled canvases through the main entrance during the morning hours.
