Heming Tea House

The Heming Tea House features a wide, open-air terrace filled with hundreds of low-slung bamboo chairs and heavy, rounded wooden tables. It sits inside People's Park, serving tea to local residents since nineteen twenty-three. During the chaotic years of the mid-twentieth century, the tea house survived because it functioned as the city's primary social hub, where neighborhood disputes were mediated by tea house masters. Even today, the clatter of porcelain cups and the sound of earpick masters at work define the space.
