China Great Canal Museum

The China Grand Canal Museum features a massive, curving facade clad in thousands of iridescent, overlapping bronze tiles that mimic the shimmer of flowing water. This museum sits at the confluence of the ancient waterway and modern development, dedicated entirely to the world’s longest man-made canal. Inside, the curators reconstructed a full-scale segment of a traditional grain barge to show how grain once traveled from the south to the imperial capital.
