A thick grove of ancient camphor trees dominates the center of Qingsha Park. These trees survived from a time when this land served as a major transport hub for grain shipments along the Grand Canal. Workers once hauled heavy loads between the water and the nearby warehouses, leaving little room for green space. Eventually, the city cleared the industrial infrastructure to create this public garden, preserving the old growth as the anchor for the entire landscape.
