The Diriyah Biennale Foundation occupies a cluster of repurposed warehouses in the JAX district. These industrial sheds, once used for heavy storage, now contain some of the largest contemporary art installations in the Middle East. In twenty twenty-one, the inaugural edition transformed this gritty, concrete environment into a dialogue between global artists and the local landscape. The stark, high-ceilinged spaces house works that spill out from the walls, making the architecture feel like an active participant in the creative process.
