Cine Doré

The Cine Doré features a striking, ornate facade painted in a distinct yellow and cream color palette, crowned by a large, semicircular pediment. Originally opened in nineteen twelve as a luxury cinema, it became a focal point for Madrid’s early moviegoers. During the mid-twentieth century, the building fell into disrepair and faced demolition. It eventually found new life as the home of the national film archive, where the original theater serves as a functioning screen for classic and international cinema today.
