The narrow facade of La Casa del Abuelo wears a faded sign and stacks of wine barrels that block the sidewalk. Founded in nineteen oh six by Cipriano Llorente, this tavern began as a simple place to serve sweet fortified wine from his family vineyards. Cipriano stood behind the counter for decades, hand-pouring glasses for local workers. Today, the family keeps the same red-tinted wine flowing, and the floors remain layered with the crushed shells of the shrimp they serve to every customer.
