Eccleston Yards sits on land that once hummed with the mechanical pulse of the Eccleston Place Power Station. Beginning in eighteen ninety-one, this facility generated the electricity that first brought light to the streets and homes of Mayfair and Belgravia. In its earliest days, the station relied on a unique water supply for its condensers, drawing rain collected from the vast roof of Victoria Station through a dedicated pipe laid along Buckingham Palace Road.
