Colma Historical Association

The Colma Historical Association occupies a converted nineteen-thirties firehouse, recognizable by its double-wide bay doors and the bright blue paint job. It serves as the town museum, housing records and artifacts salvaged from the various cemeteries that dominate the local landscape. In the nineteen-eighties, a local undertaker named Edward Church helped organize the society here to preserve the town’s records. Most of the town’s population lies underground, but inside this firehouse, the focus remains on the living history of the funeral industry.
