Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant

The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant carries a distinct, wide-brimmed wooden balcony that circles the entire second floor, shading the adobe walls below. Originally built as a private residence by Juan Bandini in eighteen twenty-seven, it became the heart of town life during the Mexican era. When the American period arrived, the building served as a busy stagecoach stop. Passengers stepped off the dusty line to sleep in rooms where Bandini once hosted lavish parties for travelers and politicians.
