Tubsinte Hill

historic

The name Tubsinte Hill honors the legacy of the Yelamu people, a subgroup of the Ohlone who inhabited this region for thousands of years. Before the arrival of European settlers, the Yelamu maintained a vital winter village named Tubsinte in this vicinity. They relied on the nearby bay and its creeks for fishing and gathering shellfish, leaving behind shellmounds that physically marked their presence on the landscape for centuries.
