Little Hollywood Park

Little Hollywood Park occupies a site that looks entirely different today than it did a century ago. Before the surrounding neighborhood was developed, a significant hill stood here. During the early twentieth century, that hill was methodically quarried away, and the earth was used as fill material to expand nearby land and cover the city trash dump. The park itself serves as a quiet center for this small residential pocket. It was formally dedicated in 1983 to honor a resident named Clarence Fleming, who worked to establish the space for his neighbors. While the area is named for the fanciful, Mediterranean-style homes that define its streets, this park provides the green space that balances the neighborhood's dense, storybook architecture.
