Seward Park Extension

other

The Seward Park Extension you are approaching consists of two twenty-three-story residential towers that were completed in October of 1973. This housing complex stands on a site that was once part of a much larger, controversial urban renewal project that razed numerous blocks of the Lower East Side in the late 1960s. The buildings became infamous for a two-year delay in their opening, caused by intense legal and community disputes over tenant selection. Decades later, the complex gained wider attention as the setting for the childhood of the Angulo family, who were documented in the film The Wolfpack for having been raised in near-total isolation within one of these apartments.
