Triangle Fire Memorial

The building before you is the former Asch Building, where the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire occurred on March 25, 1911. The tragedy took the lives of 146 workers, most of whom were young immigrant women, when they were trapped by locked doors and failed safety measures.
