George Washington Carver Community Garden

The George Washington Carver Community Garden on Walton Street sits on land that was once a vacant, rubble-strewn lot. Like many similar spaces in New York City, local residents transformed this neglected area into a green oasis through their own labor and persistent effort. Following a significant reconstruction project between twenty eighteen and twenty twenty, the site evolved into a managed sanctuary featuring raised garden beds, a greenhouse, and active beehives.
