Established in November 2021 by the Urban Indigenous Collective, the artwork features a design by artist Eloy Bida that provides more than just a visual statement. It integrates directly with the collective's research efforts, including a database and resources aimed at tracking and supporting those impacted by violence within Indigenous communities. By placing this information in a prominent neighborhood known for street art, the organizers ensure that the crisis remains visible to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous passersby who might otherwise be unaware of the disproportionately high rates of disappearance and violence these relatives face.
