The Mark A. West Jr. Center for the Arts, often referred to as the House of Mark West, was established by artist and curator Mark Anthony West Jr. as a dedicated creative hub and gallery space. Its primary mission was to foster equity in the arts by providing a platform specifically for black and brown artists who were often underrepresented in traditional gallery environments. Through this nonprofit organization, West aimed to build a sustainable creative ecosystem for the community, eventually extending his institutional leadership to other international art spaces.
