Joseph Fallert, a German immigrant who learned the trade working for other local brewers, opened his own facility here in eighteen seventy-eight. At its peak around the turn of the century, the brewery was producing more than fifty thousand barrels of beer annually, standing as a prominent fixture in a neighborhood that once teemed with dozens of competing brewing operations.
