United States Post Office (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

The Williamsburg Post Office building was completed in nineteen thirty-six as part of the massive federal construction projects known as the Works Progress Administration. Architects W. A. Delano and Chester Holmes Aldrich designed the structure in the Georgian Revival style, a deliberate choice intended to evoke a sense of civic permanence and order during the uncertainty of the Great Depression.
