Rodney Park South

Rodney Park South exists because of the massive construction of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in the mid-twentieth century. When the city carved this six-lane highway through the heart of Williamsburg, it demolished residential blocks and left behind several fragmented, oddly shaped plots of land. Officials turned these remnants into a series of small recreational spaces, creating this park as a direct consequence of the neighborhood being split in two.
