Primer Parque de Laureles is a circular green space defined by the dense, towering canopy of mature rubber trees that shade its entire perimeter. While Medellín transformed rapidly into a high-rise metropolis, this park remained the quiet anchor of a residential neighborhood designed in the late nineteen forties. City planners envisioned it as a garden city, a layout where low houses met wide, tree-lined avenues. Decades later, the trees dominate the view, and the neighborhood life still centers on these benches.
