St. Nicholas Church (Malá Strana)

The copper dome and the bell tower of Saint Nicholas Church dominate the skyline of the Lesser Town. This building stands as the most famous example of Prague Baroque, designed by Christoph Dientzenhofer and finished by his son Kilian Ignaz. In seventeen fifty-two, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played the organ here during his time in the city. The interior remains filled with massive frescoes and gilded statues that reflect the high ambitions of the Jesuits who commissioned the project in the seventeenth century.
