Bataclan (theatre)

The Bataclan features a bright red facade with an unmistakable Chinese pagoda roofline that stands out from the gray stone buildings surrounding it. Opened in eighteen sixty-five, the venue originally served as a cafe-concert where patrons danced to polkas and watched vaudeville acts. Charles Duval designed the space to evoke an exotic, theatrical spirit. It remains a fixture of Paris nightlife, though the theater floor still holds the scars of the tragic November two thousand fifteen attack that changed its legacy forever.
