Église Saint-Sulpice

You are approaching one of the most distinctive landmarks in the sixth arrondissement, the Église Saint-Sulpice. While it is the second-largest church in Paris, its most striking feature is visible from a distance: its two towers do not match. The north tower stands over seventy meters tall, while the south tower remains unfinished, standing noticeably shorter and lacking the ornate detailing of its twin. This asymmetry is a permanent reminder of the shifting fortunes and interrupted plans that defined the church's construction, which dragged on for over two centuries.
