Palais Bourbon

The Palais Bourbon began its life in seventeen twenty-two as a private countryside estate for Louise Françoise de Bourbon, a daughter of King Louis the Fourteenth. At the time, this area was a largely wooded region on the edge of the city, frequently used as a place to settle scores through duels. She commissioned the residence to mirror the luxury of the Grand Trianon at Versailles, hoping to establish a fashionable hub for the aristocracy as they retreated from the royal court.
